Snowshoeing for beginners

A small trip to Kätkä fell with snowshoes is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. The safari starts from Hotel K5 Levi. From there we will walk across icy lake Immel towards Kätkä fell. We will have breaks when needed. Up on the fell it is easy to observe the surrounding scenery. We will enjoy the silence of the wilderness and all the white pure snow around us. This safari is excellent for participants who are looking forward to be in touch with in Lappish arctic winter nature. We will have a snack before continuing back to the village. Duration approx 2 hours. Before the program starts Guide tells instructions to snow shoeing and technical part also.

Husky safari

The safari starts from the Husky Camp, where you have opportunity to get to know your huskies and get ready for the safari. P articipants will drive their own sled dog teams on the safari guided by an experienced safari guide. After the safari, a Lappish light meal is served in a Lapp hut by an open fire, and you will have the opportunity to further familiarize yourself with the dogs and their lives. The duration of the safari is about 3- 4 h after which you will be returned to Levi with several new experiences.

Price: 165€ / 1 person per sled, 115? / person when 2 person in sled, child 4-12yrs. 95€

Night Tour in Levi fell

When the fell is shrouded in the dusk and the stars begin to appear, adventurers head for the top of Levi! If we are lucky, we may also see the northern lights. Duration approx 2,5 hours. We meet at Hotel K5 Levi and participants will depart by bus to the starting point. Participants from Hotel Levi Panorama are picked up also. From Hotel Levi Panorama we continue little journey by bus. When we arrive we will put the snowshoes on. Weather permitting, we will go to the top of Levi to enjoy the nocturnal view. The guide will tell us about the night sky and its constellations. On the way down we will enjoy sausages and hot juice in Lappish hut. We will then return to the front slope. During the trip the guide will tell stories of Lappish life and culture.

Snowmobile safari in snow covered landscapes

Snowmobile riding with passion and spending two hours in snow-covered frosty nature. The guide will tell you about the Arctic nature and leads You around the Levi surroundings. During the safari we are having coffee and tea or hot berry juice and sweet bun in 1800s historic old place called Sammun Tupa. If we are lucky we might see some reindeers as well. This safari is great fun for all, young and old, beginners and experienced drivers. Duration 2 hours. You will receive all necessary clothing: overalls, helmet, gloves & boots from safari house and guide tells instructions to snowmobile driving.

City-safari on kick sleds

This is a fun way to familiarize you to the centre of Levi. Kick sledding is an excellent way to move during the winter. We will go sledding around the village of Sirkka and visit the local sights, and get a tour in center of Levi. We will stop at a Lappish hut for grilled sausages and hot drinks. The guide will tell us about village Sirkka and the life of the local Lappish people in general. Duration approx 2,5 hours.Get together at Hotel K5 Levi lobby. Guest from Hotel Levi Panorama will be picked up 30 min. before the program starts. Guide tells instructions to kick sledding and safety instructions.

Snowmobile safari to snow village!

The route traverses in changing terrain through open bogs and forest areas. On this safari You can see variety of landscapes in western Lapland. We enjoy lunch in the wilderness restaurant and after lunch we go to Lainio Snow village, where is snow and ice sculptures. The place is very unique and offers an exotic experience of snow and ice! Duration approx 5-7 hours. Get together at safari house, opposite at Hotel K5 Levi. Guest from Hotel Levi Panorama will be picked up 30 min. before the program starts You will receive all necessary clothing: overalls, helmet, gloves & boots from safari house and guide tells instructions to snowmobile driving.

-Minimum 2 persons / safari

-Starts at 10 am

-All excursions starts from Hotel K5 Levi, and guests from Hotel Levi Panorama will be picked up 30 minutes before safari starts. Except the night tour in Levi fell expedition, which starts at 7 pm from K5, and guests from Hotel Levi Panorama will be picked up after Hotel k5 guests.

We highly recommend warm wind- and waterproof clothing, gloves, warm hat, and shoes suitable for snow conditions if you are going to snow shoeing, kick sledge, or husky safari programs. Themal outfit can be rent also, please ask further information.

All snowmobile safaris include thermal outfit, guiding in English, snowmobile (2 persons/snowmobile), fuel, insurance, maximum personal liability EUR 650, maintenance, guides and VAT. The driver of the snowmobile has to be at least 15 years of age with a valid driving licence.
